[Tue Jan 6 21:44:25 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: Mooo
[Tue Jan 6 20:00:05 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: ok now that i have it working again, 8 beats is about 2 rounds
[Tue Jan 6 19:38:15 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: #define WAIT_STATE(ch, npulse) looks like i left out something important when i removed the nucience code
[Tue Jan 6 19:33:43 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MWDev: but it allows everyone else to read mine normally.
[Tue Jan 6 19:33:32 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MWDev: OK. making it !speaks makes it so that I can't read things I've said.
[Tue Jan 6 19:24:01 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: Uh Oh i got a problem, waitstates not working
[Tue Jan 6 19:15:50 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MWDev: Uh.. Dunno
[Tue Jan 6 19:15:27 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: Kayle 8 beats is one round?
[Tue Jan 6 19:10:40 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: i dont know C
[Tue Jan 6 19:10:32 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: just a guess tho
[Tue Jan 6 19:10:16 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: so my guess is that buf2 isn't what you think it is
[Tue Jan 6 19:09:48 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: (didnt realize)
[Tue Jan 6 19:09:42 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: (actually theres a snack happening first)
[Tue Jan 6 19:09:31 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: then the data is being modified
[Tue Jan 6 19:09:27 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sinistrad@Dead_Souls: Bedtime things take precedence
[Tue Jan 6 19:09:22 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sinistrad@Dead_Souls: Crat
[Tue Jan 6 19:09:19 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: but if the statement is exactly the same, and the only diff is the !
[Tue Jan 6 19:09:02 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: ok lemme start by saying i dont know C
[Tue Jan 6 19:06:26 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: hang on bedtime things
[Tue Jan 6 19:06:13 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MWDev: a false result should be scrambling them.
[Tue Jan 6 19:06:06 2009] [Server01:ichat] Samael@6Dragons: double negative
[Tue Jan 6 19:05:57 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MWDev: But, Crat, a false result shouldn't not scramble things.
[Tue Jan 6 19:05:43 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: ok
[Tue Jan 6 19:05:41 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: if it doesnt work then i'll think for real
[Tue Jan 6 19:05:40 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MWDev: I did.
[Tue Jan 6 19:05:31 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: just try it
[Tue Jan 6 19:05:19 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MWDev: I don't get it. I need another test subject.
[Tue Jan 6 19:04:21 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: maybe even (!(speaks))
[Tue Jan 6 19:04:05 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: !(speaks)
[Tue Jan 6 19:03:59 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: did you try them?
[Tue Jan 6 19:03:55 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: parentheses
[Tue Jan 6 19:03:46 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sinistrad@Dead_Souls: I ? love : them
[Tue Jan 6 19:03:37 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: the cornerstone of any nutritious breakfast
[Tue Jan 6 19:03:20 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: ah the ternary conditional statement
[Tue Jan 6 19:03:06 2009] [Server01:ichat] Samael@6Dragons: Beam me up Scotty!
[Tue Jan 6 19:03:06 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MWDev: Where: !speaks ? buf2 : scramble( buf2, chan_data[channel].language[x] ) doesn't. -.-
[Tue Jan 6 19:02:55 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MWDev: That line scrambles text for him.
[Tue Jan 6 19:02:46 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MWDev: speaks ? buf2 : scramble( buf2, chan_data[channel].language[x] )
[Tue Jan 6 19:02:31 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MWDev: K, so now speaks should be true. since Scoyn is an Imm, and he speaks every language.
[Tue Jan 6 19:02:08 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MWDev: I have this boolean variable that is set to true if a character knows a language. it's called speaks.
[Tue Jan 6 19:01:39 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sinistrad@Dead_Souls: Confirmed
[Tue Jan 6 19:01:37 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MWDev: Lemme explain why :P
[Tue Jan 6 19:01:18 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: prolly
[Tue Jan 6 19:00:52 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MWDev: Ok. I think I'm going crazy.
[Tue Jan 6 14:23:05 2009] [Server01:ichat] Samael@6Dragons: Tony Taka is ugly as bricks >.<
[Tue Jan 6 11:49:16 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sinistrad@Dead_Souls: Surely without a physical limit, you could technically encompass anything that more than 10 people care about.
[Tue Jan 6 10:00:54 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: whatever you say about aristotle, he does know DRAMA
[Tue Jan 6 10:00:01 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: i have to say that the threshold AfD is shaping up to be epic
[Tue Jan 6 05:37:56 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kiasyn@Talon: hm
[Tue Jan 6 04:36:02 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: so what lua does in this situation is give your progs capabilities that cannot be done at all or easily in prog code
[Tue Jan 6 04:33:52 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: so to use it, you need a prog, say MpLuaProg that has in it call_lua(ch, "my_function" argument) where my_function is the lua function you write to perform a specific tast, be it mob ai, quest parameters, anything you can think of
[Tue Jan 6 04:31:35 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: and txt needs to be the string you pass to the function
[Tue Jan 6 04:31:07 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: so back to your mprog code, "speech" needs to be a lua function
[Tue Jan 6 04:30:41 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: Vladaar: call_lua (ch, "new_player", ch->name); new_player is the lua function you want to call
[Tue Jan 6 03:07:21 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MWDev: AHA. Got it to work.
[Tue Jan 6 03:04:36 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MWDev: Well, didn't kill it that time, but I bugged the hell out of it.
[Tue Jan 6 03:03:01 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: call_lua should contain a lua function name and some other data you want to pass to it i beleive
[Tue Jan 6 03:01:39 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: how does call_lua work
[Tue Jan 6 03:01:38 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MWDev: Yeah. Killed it.
[Tue Jan 6 03:01:19 2009] [Server01:ichat] Vladaar@6Dragons: no speech in any lua
[Tue Jan 6 03:01:07 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: yes you will crash
[Tue Jan 6 03:00:56 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: most of that basic stuff nick had working out the box
[Tue Jan 6 03:00:49 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MWDev: Hmm. K. Taking Bets. Will I totally crash and burn by calling act_string in the nanny?
[Tue Jan 6 02:59:54 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: cant rember, but speech should be a lua function and txt is the data you want to pass to it
[Tue Jan 6 02:57:44 2009] [Server01:ichat] Vladaar@6Dragons: I guess I need to figure out what to put in call_lua once that is checked
[Tue Jan 6 02:57:21 2009] [Server01:ichat] Vladaar@6Dragons: for example my mprog speech code in mud_prog.c has call_lua( actor, "speech", txt )
[Tue Jan 6 02:56:19 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: use a simple mprog to call the actual ai for what you want to do
[Tue Jan 6 02:55:39 2009] [Server01:ichat] Vladaar@6Dragons: I think so
[Tue Jan 6 02:55:37 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MWDev: I need to figure out how to call act_string from the nanny without breaking things.
[Tue Jan 6 02:55:24 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: you use a hook and then code the ai in lua
[Tue Jan 6 02:54:23 2009] [Server01:ichat] Vladaar@6Dragons: yah, I need like an example of embedding for a prog, and how to check it prob
[Tue Jan 6 02:53:57 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: didnt you add in Nicks lua snip
[Tue Jan 6 02:51:01 2009] [Server01:ichat] Vladaar@6Dragons: yep all that
[Tue Jan 6 02:50:50 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: in what respect? more decisions for mobs more bits more variables
[Tue Jan 6 02:50:24 2009] [Server01:ichat] Vladaar@6Dragons: adding scripting
[Tue Jan 6 02:50:08 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: then what can be changed in progs to make them do it better
[Tue Jan 6 02:49:52 2009] [Server01:ichat] Vladaar@6Dragons: not very well
[Tue Jan 6 02:49:42 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: and you cannot achive that with progs
[Tue Jan 6 02:49:03 2009] [Server01:ichat] Vladaar@6Dragons: life-like dynamic quests/progs
[Tue Jan 6 02:48:38 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: like
[Tue Jan 6 02:48:33 2009] [Server01:ichat] Vladaar@6Dragons: tons
[Tue Jan 6 02:48:21 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: what do you need to be able to do that you cannot all ready acheive with progs and C
[Tue Jan 6 02:47:54 2009] [Server01:ichat] Vladaar@6Dragons: prob, but I dont know how to embedd lua
[Tue Jan 6 02:47:39 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: only lua does them better
[Tue Jan 6 02:47:24 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: it would seem to me that the power of DG is to do things that Lua already does for you
[Tue Jan 6 02:46:44 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: progs do well what they do, they are simple and secure enough, if you want more complex mob ai, code it, if you want scripting to make coding easier/faster/no reboots then use lua
[Tue Jan 6 02:46:39 2009] [Server01:ichat] Vladaar@6Dragons: heh too many years into what I got to go circle
[Tue Jan 6 02:46:08 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MWDev: I need a guinea pig.
[Tue Jan 6 02:46:03 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MWDev: Kayle@MWDev thinks, 'Hmmmm.'
[Tue Jan 6 02:45:39 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MWDev: Why not use Circle then Vlad if you want that stuff? :P
[Tue Jan 6 02:44:58 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: i dont use either, i coded my mob ai
[Tue Jan 6 02:44:31 2009] [Server01:ichat] Vladaar@6Dragons: I'd take DG over the crappy normal smaug progs
[Tue Jan 6 02:42:57 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: DG to me is sort of pointless,
[Tue Jan 6 02:41:56 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: well you know what i mean, from a time before there were real good script languages
[Tue Jan 6 02:41:43 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MWDev: And Lua.. Lua is like LexiScript except not mud oriented and *maybe* more powerful. But I'm only going to say maybe.
[Tue Jan 6 02:41:37 2009] [Server01:ichat] Vladaar@6Dragons: 1980's? DG been around that long eh
[Tue Jan 6 02:41:10 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: sort of tarted up progs and a shitty scrtipting language
[Tue Jan 6 02:40:51 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MWDev: It's basically a Mud-Oriented Scripting language with a shitton of power.
[Tue Jan 6 02:40:34 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: i am with Kayle on that, if you want to have propper scripting use lua, python and friends, if you want some basic progging, then progs will do the job fine, DG seems to me to be something thats from the 1980's
[Tue Jan 6 02:40:25 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MWDev: DG is basically MobProgs that are a lot more dynamic and flexible. I don't even know how to classify LexiScript...
[Tue Jan 6 02:39:46 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MWDev: Actually they're not.
[Tue Jan 6 02:39:38 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MWDev: I know how to embed it. I just haven't gotten around to it.
[Tue Jan 6 02:39:28 2009] [Server01:ichat] Vladaar@6Dragons: heh, lua, DG, lexi all the same thing
[Tue Jan 6 02:39:27 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MWDev: Well, I sortof have Lua.
[Tue Jan 6 02:39:10 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MWDev: I have Lua. DG can kiss my ass.
[Tue Jan 6 02:39:02 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: Ohhhh i can see Drizzt wacking himself over that
[Tue Jan 6 02:38:22 2009] [Server01:ichat] Vladaar@6Dragons: a Staff member of mine told me JamDog on TBAmud may try to convert DG scripts to smaug and release it
[Tue Jan 6 02:37:58 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: fuck em, lol
[Tue Jan 6 02:37:50 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MWDev: People can't get high now. :P
[Tue Jan 6 02:37:41 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MWDev: Lol
[Tue Jan 6 02:37:33 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: the only thing that used slots is herbs, so i removed them too
[Tue Jan 6 02:37:20 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MWDev: Smaug is a beastly thing to get encapsulated.
[Tue Jan 6 02:37:14 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: hehe i removed all the old slot shit today
[Tue Jan 6 02:37:01 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MWDev: I'm just glad I got the damn thing running finally.
[Tue Jan 6 02:36:37 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: LOL yeah i know, me too
[Tue Jan 6 02:36:33 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MWDev: But alas. I'm too anal about my code. and won't let anyone else work on it. ;)
[Tue Jan 6 02:36:17 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MWDev: Hmm. Wish I had someone like that.
[Tue Jan 6 02:35:35 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: pick up the bits i cannot keep upwith myself
[Tue Jan 6 02:35:15 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: yeah i know, i wouldnt impose on you anyways, i need someone who can put in as well
[Tue Jan 6 02:34:36 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MWDev: I'm trying to run this place, keep the IMC servers running, run SmaugMuds.org, and on top of that. develop a codebase. :P I'll wear the title, but I've got too much going to be of assistance. :P
[Tue Jan 6 02:34:13 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: pretty much everyone does shit all
[Tue Jan 6 02:33:54 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: nothing different then with anyone else
[Tue Jan 6 02:33:34 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MWDev: BUt I'm not doing shit. :D
[Tue Jan 6 02:33:30 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MWDev: I'll co-own for you Fury.
[Tue Jan 6 02:33:07 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: i know, ut i thought i would give it a shot anyways, did not even get 1 applicant
[Tue Jan 6 02:31:12 2009] [Server01:ichat] Vladaar@6Dragons: Fury were we not just talking about how co-owners didn't often work the other day? Then you post on mudconnect for one. Heh
[Tue Jan 6 02:28:28 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: a pair of Veals
[Tue Jan 6 01:39:54 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sinistrad@Dead_Souls: Goink to be man in motion. All I need is: pair of veels!
[Tue Jan 6 01:39:45 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sinistrad@Dead_Souls: Da.
[Tue Jan 6 01:25:21 2009] [Server01:ichat] Rommel@AvP: Shouldn't it be anyvays?
[Tue Jan 6 01:23:55 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sinistrad@Dead_Souls: Vat do they say? Ve do not know, but they call you anyways, day or night.
[Tue Jan 6 01:23:27 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sinistrad@Dead_Souls: in communist russia, ghostbusters call YOU

[Tue Jan 6 01:19:06 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: the 80's are to the 00's like the 60's were to the 80's
[Tue Jan 6 01:12:25 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sinistrad@Dead_Souls: Ve vill be livink together, knowing that we haff done it all for the glory of loff.
[Tue Jan 6 01:05:46 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MWDev: But now I have string corruption. >.<
[Tue Jan 6 01:05:39 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MWDev: Fixed the list corruption.
[Tue Jan 6 01:05:34 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MWDev: YAY!
[Tue Jan 6 00:59:08 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sinistrad@Dead_Souls: in communist russia, I am the man who will be fightink for your honor
[Tue Jan 6 00:56:39 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: in communist russia, you get out of my car, and into my dreams
[Tue Jan 6 00:54:02 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sinistrad@Dead_Souls: It's time to be takink this ship into the shore, and be throwink away the oars, foreeEEever
[Tue Jan 6 00:47:01 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sinistrad@Dead_Souls: In other news, police warn that the Sudoku killer will kill either 1, 4 or 9 victims next.
[Tue Jan 6 00:45:25 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: in communist russia, take on me take Me ON
[Tue Jan 6 00:43:31 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sinistrad@Dead_Souls: For I cannot be fightink this feelink anymore, I haff forgotten what my komrades are fighting foooOor
[Tue Jan 6 00:25:57 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sinistrad@Dead_Souls: THe 501 blues: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CSG807d3P-U&NR=1
[Tue Jan 6 00:22:31 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sinistrad@Dead_Souls: Sweet.
[Tue Jan 6 00:22:25 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sinistrad@Dead_Souls: Oh! THey do!
[Tue Jan 6 00:22:16 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sinistrad@Dead_Souls: THey're showing so many trees, I sure hope pasghetti grows on them
[Tue Jan 6 00:21:15 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SyUvNnmFtgI
[Tue Jan 6 00:19:54 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sinistrad@Dead_Souls: Pasghetti
[Tue Jan 6 00:18:53 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MWDev: This damn spaghetti code. -.-
[Tue Jan 6 00:18:44 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MWDev: Kayle@MWDev mutters distractedly.
[Tue Jan 6 00:18:41 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MWDev: Ok. So now the 50 objects on either side of #250 are corrupted. -._ but 250 is fine!
[Tue Jan 6 00:17:53 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: then he'd have the 501 blues
[Tue Jan 6 00:17:23 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MWDev: You're.. an odd one Sinis.
[Tue Jan 6 00:17:16 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MWDev: Kayle@MWDev boggles in complete incomprehension.
[Tue Jan 6 00:14:30 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sinistrad@Dead_Souls: Well corruption in the middle of 501 would be worse than 500, right?
[Tue Jan 6 00:14:10 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MWDev: How is that the bright side?
[Tue Jan 6 00:13:48 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sinistrad@Dead_Souls: It could've been 501 objects
[Tue Jan 6 00:13:43 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sinistrad@Dead_Souls: Well, look at the bright side

[Sun Jan 4 14:14:19 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sys@BlackHole: yeah if I was doing more complex stuff I'd look at postgres and even oracle if it was complex enough and neeeded solid replication, but for "I could have used a yaml file, but fancied a bit of indexing" mysql seems good enough
[Sun Jan 4 14:12:28 2009] [Server01:ichat] Raudhrskal@Dead_Souls: use what you like.
[Sun Jan 4 14:12:24 2009] [Server01:ichat] Samael@6Dragons: paheal uses postgres
[Sun Jan 4 14:12:03 2009] [Server01:ichat] Raudhrskal@Dead_Souls: but for more complex stuff... i just dunno.
[Sun Jan 4 14:11:52 2009] [Server01:ichat] Raudhrskal@Dead_Souls: mysql is enough for a web application, probably.
[Sun Jan 4 14:11:26 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sys@BlackHole: I suppose I've never had enough problems with mysql to try anything else
[Sun Jan 4 14:11:04 2009] [Server01:ichat] Raudhrskal@Dead_Souls: and, it's bsd, as opposed to mysql's gpl or commercial.
[Sun Jan 4 14:10:46 2009] [Server01:ichat] Raudhrskal@Dead_Souls: hard to say... it's somewhat heavier in terms of memory/storage, it's a little harder to learn, but has much more functionality and stability.
[Sun Jan 4 14:10:35 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sys@BlackHole: s/less/fewer/
[Sun Jan 4 14:10:16 2009] [Server01:ichat] Samael@6Dragons: and less of them to boot
[Sun Jan 4 14:10:04 2009] [Server01:ichat] Samael@6Dragons: better error handling I heard >.>
[Sun Jan 4 14:09:23 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sys@BlackHole: is postgres really that much betterer?
[Sun Jan 4 14:08:59 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sys@BlackHole: from pissed of users or an overzealous monitoring system?
[Sun Jan 4 14:08:50 2009] [Server01:ichat] Raudhrskal@Dead_Souls: if qsf can use postgres, consider moving the db to it...
[Sun Jan 4 14:08:20 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: Finally. The website works again. Now. maybe I'll quit getting 100 error emails an hour.
[Sun Jan 4 14:07:02 2009] [Server01:ichat] Raudhrskal@Dead_Souls: argh, 'mysqlcheck --repair'
[Sun Jan 4 14:06:56 2009] [Server01:ichat] Raudhrskal@Dead_Souls: 'mysqlcheck --repai'
[Sun Jan 4 14:06:44 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: Ok, the mysqlcheck command showed me which tables are damaged, how do I make it repair them?
[Sun Jan 4 14:06:08 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sys@BlackHole: and move quickly on to restart
[Sun Jan 4 14:05:28 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sys@BlackHole: I'd start with /etc/init.d/mysql status
[Sun Jan 4 14:05:17 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: It's Fedora. =/
[Sun Jan 4 14:05:03 2009] [Server01:ichat] Raudhrskal@Dead_Souls: er, s/mysqld/mysql/
[Sun Jan 4 14:04:31 2009] [Server01:ichat] Raudhrskal@Dead_Souls: debian's startup scripts does that automatically, so if you have debian-ish distro you may try to /etc/init.d/mysqld restart
[Sun Jan 4 14:03:54 2009] [Server01:ichat] Raudhrskal@Dead_Souls: man mysqlcheck?
[Sun Jan 4 14:00:13 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: this is all I get when I try to look at the database in Webmin: SQL show index from `qsfp_active` failed : Table './whispers/qsfp_active' is marked as crashed and should be repaired
[Sun Jan 4 13:58:22 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sys@BlackHole: what values of crashed?

[Sun Jan 4 13:57:46 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: Anyone know the linux command to repair a crashed MySQL database?
[Sun Jan 4 13:38:41 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sys@BlackHole: sorry was a bit bored and it seemed like fun
[Sun Jan 4 13:38:25 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sys@BlackHole: that was me
[Sun Jan 4 13:38:04 2009] [Server01:ichat] Raudhrskal@Dead_Souls: and somebody connected the tubes to the sewage system.
[Sun Jan 4 13:37:13 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sys@BlackHole: they've replced the wires with damp string
[Sun Jan 4 13:06:17 2009] [Server01:ichat] Samael@6Dragons: wtf is up wit hthe internet today?
[Sun Jan 4 12:54:51 2009] [Server01:ichat] Samael@6Dragons: immediately contacts his supervisors.

[Sun Jan 4 09:09:38 2009] [Server01:ichat] Davion@ADP: I am!
[Sun Jan 4 06:06:43 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: so who is awake already
[Sun Jan 4 02:46:25 2009] [Server01:ichat] Razot@6Dragons: anyone know if you can use an ifcheck with mpat? seems like it'd work to check the status of an item in another room, but isn't :(

[Sun Jan 4 02:09:12 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: Well, I'm off to bed for a bit. Night all.
[Sun Jan 4 02:08:44 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: so they're great at stressing the system, not so great at leveling
[Sun Jan 4 02:08:36 2009] [Server01:ichat] Bailey@The_Eighth_Realm: If I get back to coding the metro system, it would be interesting to see if they get lost on it.
[Sun Jan 4 02:08:29 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: not to be good at emulating normal players
[Sun Jan 4 02:08:16 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: you have to remember i coded them to help me find bugs
[Sun Jan 4 02:07:46 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: and may explain why you just see them at level 1
[Sun Jan 4 02:07:27 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: which is generally to their own detriment
[Sun Jan 4 02:07:15 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: they randomly issue "kill all"
[Sun Jan 4 02:07:06 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: occasionalyl aggressive
[Sun Jan 4 02:06:55 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: and that's really quite hard as a dumb bot
[Sun Jan 4 02:06:55 2009] [Server01:ichat] Bailey@The_Eighth_Realm: I've noticed the trainers get kills in so it seems the bots are aggressive.
[Sun Jan 4 02:06:43 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: and without that, theyre limited to kill-promotion
[Sun Jan 4 02:06:30 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: i intentionally avoided coded quest solutions into them
[Sun Jan 4 02:06:10 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: not really that strange
[Sun Jan 4 02:06:04 2009] [Server01:ichat] Bailey@The_Eighth_Realm: Had them on for 20 days at point and no-one levelled. Which is strange.
[Sun Jan 4 02:06:02 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: but on a mud where i had ben playtesting so that i had unlocked doors and moved rugs already
[Sun Jan 4 02:05:32 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: i've had them level up
[Sun Jan 4 02:05:08 2009] [Server01:ichat] Bailey@The_Eighth_Realm: 5 days the bots have been playing and none has levelled up yet.
[Sun Jan 4 02:05:00 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: and one using firearms and explosives
[Sun Jan 4 02:04:37 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: he can be killed, but it has to be a wily PC not an NPC
[Sun Jan 4 02:04:21 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: leo is such an extreme badass
[Sun Jan 4 02:04:09 2009] [Server01:ichat] Bailey@The_Eighth_Realm: It's when they take on Leo, I think "Why?"
[Sun Jan 4 02:03:39 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: "kill all" in the menagerie has hazards attached
[Sun Jan 4 02:02:40 2009] [Server01:ichat] Bailey@The_Eighth_Realm: Heh! "07:01 SYSTEM <death> Noarinor has slain Moth." -- "07:02 SYSTEM <death> Balrog has slain Noarinor."
[Sun Jan 4 01:55:43 2009] [Server01:ichat] Bailey@The_Eighth_Realm: heh
[Sun Jan 4 01:55:26 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: hypnoutize
[Sun Jan 4 01:55:16 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: heh
[Sun Jan 4 01:55:10 2009] [Server01:ichat] Bailey@The_Eighth_Realm: err... you missed a 'u'
[Sun Jan 4 01:54:51 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: authorize, hypnotize
[Sun Jan 4 01:54:42 2009] [Server01:ichat] Bailey@The_Eighth_Realm: Oxford and Cambridge universities.
[Sun Jan 4 01:54:36 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: surprise, confuse
[Sun Jan 4 01:54:12 2009] [Server01:ichat] Bailey@The_Eighth_Realm: I think it only matters to the "Oxbridge" set.
[Sun Jan 4 01:53:35 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: i have it on cd, dont make me reinstall it
[Sun Jan 4 01:53:27 2009] [Server01:ichat] Bailey@The_Eighth_Realm: 'ise' ending wrong, 'ize' ending right
[Sun Jan 4 01:53:19 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: i doubt oed has z as the preferred spelling
[Sun Jan 4 01:53:03 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: So then using z's is proper while using s's is improper? :P
[Sun Jan 4 01:52:48 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: Ah.
[Sun Jan 4 01:52:39 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: the canonical reference for the language
[Sun Jan 4 01:52:29 2009] [Server01:ichat] Bailey@The_Eighth_Realm: Oxford English Dictionary
[Sun Jan 4 01:52:15 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: Ok, OED? And I don't want Furys's answer. :P
[Sun Jan 4 01:51:09 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: Obsessive Eating Disorder
[Sun Jan 4 01:50:38 2009] [Server01:ichat] Bailey@The_Eighth_Realm: OED says to use 'z'
[Sun Jan 4 01:49:55 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: Or perhaps it's because you hang around with americans too much and our 'improper' english is rubbing off on you.
[Sun Jan 4 01:49:11 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: because you use british english, and you're rebellious?
[Sun Jan 4 01:47:08 2009] [Server01:ichat] Bailey@The_Eighth_Realm: Surprisingly confuzing.
[Sun Jan 4 01:46:33 2009] [Server01:ichat] Bailey@The_Eighth_Realm: wonders why he uses z's for confuzed yet s's for surprised.
[Sun Jan 4 01:36:02 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: bueller
[Sun Jan 4 01:20:34 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: Nice

[Sun Jan 4 01:17:23 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: -.-
[Sun Jan 4 01:17:17 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: Any suggestions/comments? Google while giving me a lot of results, isn't being to terribly helpful.
[Sun Jan 4 01:16:30 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: er.
[Sun Jan 4 01:16:26 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: I have those errors.
[Sun Jan 4 01:15:22 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: IE claimed to be a Mozilla browser in one version too. because they were tired of people blocking IE from loading sites.
[Sun Jan 4 01:14:58 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: Kayle@MW shrugs helplessly.
[Sun Jan 4 01:14:40 2009] [Server01:ichat] Bailey@The_Eighth_Realm: Plus it claims to be atom10 at one point but isn't. It's RSS 1.0
[Sun Jan 4 01:14:27 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: Heh. Sounds like it might just be easier to ask Iccy to get a better feed. :P
[Sun Jan 4 01:13:51 2009] [Server01:ichat] Bailey@The_Eighth_Realm: It's interestingly ... terse.
[Sun Jan 4 01:13:49 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: Will do.
[Sun Jan 4 01:13:12 2009] [Server01:ichat] Bailey@The_Eighth_Realm: kk. Get DH to look at the feed output of TMC, he might get and idea as to why it is not working.
[Sun Jan 4 01:13:09 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: Actually, I think they were meeting in Malaysia and then going to Thailand.
[Sun Jan 4 01:12:44 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: i'll stop calling him a depraved bourgeois pig, if it helps
[Sun Jan 4 01:12:39 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: He's not, I believe he's visiting his parents in malaysia or thailand
[Sun Jan 4 01:12:16 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: tell david to stop boycotting imc
[Sun Jan 4 01:11:52 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: Anyone really familiar with C++? =/
[Sun Jan 4 01:11:26 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: I'll have David look at the bot and see whether he thinks we could easily manage it or if it would be easier to get Iccy to use an easier feed.
[Sun Jan 4 01:06:35 2009] [Server01:ichat] Bailey@The_Eighth_Realm: If you want TMC to update
[Sun Jan 4 01:06:13 2009] [Server01:ichat] Bailey@The_Eighth_Realm: Easier to contact Icculus, you'll need to check the published date of the post, <dc:date> meta data, as well.
[Sun Jan 4 00:59:00 2009] [Server01:ichat] Bailey@The_Eighth_Realm: Just for category and author
[Sun Jan 4 00:58:34 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: Uh. So I'm gonna have to mod the reader.
[Sun Jan 4 00:58:03 2009] [Server01:ichat] Bailey@The_Eighth_Realm: Ooo... Just looked at the RSS feed data for TMC. It uses things like dc:creator and dc:subject
[Sun Jan 4 00:55:16 2009] [Server01:ichat] Bailey@The_Eighth_Realm: I'm just suprised that TMS works but TMC does not.
[Sun Jan 4 00:55:09 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: i played with baileys code and was like "huh" then forgot how it worked 5 seconds later
[Sun Jan 4 00:54:52 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: i dunno nothin bout rss, myself
[Sun Jan 4 00:54:38 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: k
[Sun Jan 4 00:54:31 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: It's not that its screwy or hard to use, it's that I'm not familiar enough with MegaBot yet to figure this out. :P
[Sun Jan 4 00:54:08 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: he *does* want more eyeballs, after all
[Sun Jan 4 00:53:42 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: if you explain to him his rss is screwy and hard to use, he might be helpful
[Sun Jan 4 00:53:30 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: just a thought, but icculus is actually pretty responsive by email
[Sun Jan 4 00:53:02 2009] [Server01:ichat] Bailey@The_Eighth_Realm: Hmm... That must have been old code. I don't bother doing fuzzy matching anymore it seems, just a straight match.
[Sun Jan 4 00:50:48 2009] [Server01:ichat] Bailey@The_Eighth_Realm: Same as TMS now that I remember. I save the description meta data so that I can also check that to see if anything changed (within a confidence interval of 95%) even if the url meta data didn't
[Sun Jan 4 00:50:39 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: s/thread/feed
[Sun Jan 4 00:50:29 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: So the parser's probably gonna need a little modding to read the TMC thread?
[Sun Jan 4 00:47:15 2009] [Server01:ichat] Bailey@The_Eighth_Realm: Ah yes, now I remember. TMC is one of those that doesn't have a concept of latest post link.
[Sun Jan 4 00:41:16 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: Here's the parser if you wanna look: http://pastebin.com/d49ff9d3a
[Sun Jan 4 00:39:08 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: that's basically what MegaBot does, except he's written in Lua.
[Sun Jan 4 00:38:50 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: I'm going to have DavidHaley look at it when I see him though, he's better with Lua then I am. Maybe he'll see something I'm not.
[Sun Jan 4 00:38:46 2009] [Server01:ichat] Bailey@The_Eighth_Realm: Hmm... Well my bot is LPC script that connects as a simple HTTP client and then parses the returned data.
[Sun Jan 4 00:38:29 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: Looks like I'm the opposite. TMS works fine, TMC doesn't want to work.
[Sun Jan 4 00:37:33 2009] [Server01:ichat] Bailey@The_Eighth_Realm: I had to do some funky time sorting and description checking to get TMS to work correctly, however TMC just worked.
[Sun Jan 4 00:37:31 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: I'm still not 100% familiar with how MegaBot works.
[Sun Jan 4 00:36:36 2009] [Server01:ichat] Bailey@The_Eighth_Realm: I connect via the IP and then send Host: feeds.feedburner.com
[Sun Jan 4 00:36:26 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: that's what I have. MegaBot just can't read the format for some reason
[Sun Jan 4 00:36:12 2009] [Server01:ichat] Bailey@The_Eighth_Realm: Yes
[Sun Jan 4 00:36:02 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: that translates to http://feeds.feedburner.com/TMCForums yes?
[Sun Jan 4 00:35:25 2009] [Server01:ichat] Bailey@The_Eighth_Realm: The feed is reported 1 hour later though for some strange reason.
[Sun Jan 4 00:34:42 2009] [Server01:ichat] Bailey@The_Eighth_Realm: 66.150.96.119 80 -- feeds.feedburner.com -- GET /TMCForums HTTP/1.0
[Sun Jan 4 00:34:17 2009] [Server01:ichat] Bailey@The_Eighth_Realm: No
[Sun Jan 4 00:34:10 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: It's an atomfeed though right?
[Sun Jan 4 00:34:05 2009] [Server01:ichat] Bailey@The_Eighth_Realm: TMC*
[Sun Jan 4 00:34:00 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: Not yet.
[Sun Jan 4 00:33:53 2009] [Server01:ichat] Bailey@The_Eighth_Realm: Did you get TNC to report on imudnews???

[Sat Jan 3 06:05:51 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: it is 7200 + levels, there is more leveling to come after you have leveled all that leveling
[Sat Jan 3 06:05:24 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: wait there is more
[Sat Jan 3 06:05:12 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: who or what is insane enough to want to play that many levels

[Sat Jan 3 01:55:22 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@Talon: bugger i cannot access anything, can you check if you can access the website
[Sat Jan 3 01:54:42 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: It's still up from what I can tell Fury. It's returning active packets for IMC.
[Sat Jan 3 01:54:15 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@Talon: Mr Magoo
[Sat Jan 3 01:53:56 2009] [Server01:ichat] Samael@6Dragons: who the heck runs a mud name Why_Did_Google_?
[Sat Jan 3 01:52:49 2009] [Server01:ichat] Samael@6Dragons: He does? Really? so it's all just one big overland map?
[Sat Jan 3 01:52:42 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@Talon: can anyone else access my server, looks like the whole server has gone offline
[Sat Jan 3 01:51:32 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: Doesn't Fury also use an overland map for everything?
[Sat Jan 3 01:49:23 2009] [Server01:ichat] Samael@6Dragons: well like Fury's mud, while your traveling in the wilderness, a set of coord's will show up next to your map.
[Sat Jan 3 01:48:31 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: It's the same way with my weather code.
[Sat Jan 3 01:48:21 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: It's two values on the area.
[Sat Jan 3 01:48:09 2009] [Server01:ichat] Samael@6Dragons: you know how afk's overland has coordinates right?
[Sat Jan 3 01:47:54 2009] [Server01:ichat] Samael@6Dragons: mmmm, I was planning on it actually was just wondering about the coordinates
[Sat Jan 3 01:46:52 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: if the Space system from SWR is what you're trying to emulate.. why not use the code from it as a guide?
[Sat Jan 3 01:46:22 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: Hmm. I still don't get what exactly you're trying to do.
[Sat Jan 3 01:45:39 2009] [Server01:ichat] Samael@6Dragons: like with the course command, and then the land command.
[Sat Jan 3 01:45:19 2009] [Server01:ichat] Samael@6Dragons: I know that Kayle, I just meant that's something sort of what I'm aiming for. For you to be able to move around based on a specific set of coordinates.
[Sat Jan 3 01:44:45 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MWDev: the only link an individual area has to space is the planet value, and any rooms flagged as a landing area.
[Sat Jan 3 01:44:18 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MWDev: But to actually answer your question. SWR's space system doesn't assign coordinates to areas. it assigns coordinates to planets, and planets are given coordinates in the system they're located in
[Sat Jan 3 01:43:48 2009] [Server01:ichat] Samael@6Dragons: i'd probably build it in and link the rooms, and probably code in the poles and the Prime meridian and equator.
[Sat Jan 3 01:42:50 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MWDev: How are you going to handle the roundness of the world?
[Sat Jan 3 01:42:40 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MWDev: I have one question for you.
[Sat Jan 3 01:42:31 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MWDev: Well.
[Sat Jan 3 01:42:23 2009] [Server01:ichat] Samael@6Dragons: and only two coords, lat and lon.
[Sat Jan 3 01:42:04 2009] [Server01:ichat] Samael@6Dragons: yeah basically, kinda of similar to swg's space code but wel... not for space.
[Sat Jan 3 01:41:01 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: You're trying to assign a coordinate to a room in an area?
[Sat Jan 3 01:40:43 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: Still not following.
[Sat Jan 3 01:40:22 2009] [Server01:ichat] Samael@6Dragons: I mean like how afk overland has coordinates, except it would work with an area, inside a define set of coords.
[Sat Jan 3 01:39:49 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: What do you mean?
[Sat Jan 3 01:38:12 2009] [Server01:ichat] Samael@6Dragons: or surmise I should say instead of know
[Sat Jan 3 01:37:58 2009] [Server01:ichat] Samael@6Dragons: Would anyone know of a way to introduce coordinates to a smaug area?
[Sat Jan 3 01:17:11 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: Lol
[Sat Jan 3 01:17:05 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sinistrad@Dead_Souls: I didn't draw a guy grabbing something, let's just say that
[Sat Jan 3 01:17:01 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: Rofl
[Sat Jan 3 01:16:55 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sinistrad@Dead_Souls: Earlier I got to draw the word "snatch"
[Sat Jan 3 01:15:00 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sinistrad@Dead_Souls: But getting peopel to guess "imp" was gonna be hard
[Sat Jan 3 01:14:48 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: ...Damn you.
[Sat Jan 3 01:14:21 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sinistrad@Dead_Souls: imp + rope
[Sat Jan 3 01:14:15 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: I mean improper.. how the hell do you draw that?
[Sat Jan 3 01:14:01 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sinistrad@Dead_Souls: heh, ok
[Sat Jan 3 01:13:54 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: lemme know when you play again, I'll play anytime, even if I get all the hard ass words.
[Sat Jan 3 01:13:49 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sinistrad@Dead_Souls: I'm gonna look them up
[Sat Jan 3 01:13:45 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sinistrad@Dead_Souls: Yeah
[Sat Jan 3 01:13:11 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: I want one now. it would make playing that a lot easier
[Sat Jan 3 01:12:36 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sinistrad@Dead_Souls: I used to have a tabletpc
[Sat Jan 3 01:12:31 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sinistrad@Dead_Souls: Yeah, it's lots of fun
[Sat Jan 3 01:12:28 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sinistrad@Dead_Souls: Hehe
[Sat Jan 3 01:12:20 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: Even if I suck at drawing
[Sat Jan 3 01:12:15 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: That was fun. :D
[Sat Jan 3 01:10:23 2009] [Server01:ichat] Renji@MW: Nothing, you?
[Sat Jan 3 01:09:49 2009] [Server01:ichat] Samael@6Dragons: ... 'sup?
[Sat Jan 3 01:09:42 2009] [Server01:ichat] Renji@MW: Renji@MW pounces on Samael@6Dragons, pinning him to the ground.

[Fri Jan 2 18:55:12 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: i made a good mistake last night and took out an if check from mob_update that cause the game to crash, that check to skip pc's is important
[Fri Jan 2 18:54:59 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: We're all human after all. :P
[Fri Jan 2 18:54:54 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: yeah
[Fri Jan 2 18:54:10 2009] [Server01:ichat] Keberus@SW:TGA: I guess we all have the right to a mistake every once in a while
[Fri Jan 2 18:54:02 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: gotta love it when a plan comes together
[Fri Jan 2 18:53:41 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: I forgot to fix the s/S variables. :P
[Fri Jan 2 18:53:31 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: Was gonna say, the act_string thing was my bad.
[Fri Jan 2 18:53:22 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: brb rebooting
[Fri Jan 2 18:53:20 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: Ah.
[Fri Jan 2 18:53:13 2009] [Server01:ichat] Keberus@SW:TGA: No, I posted the wrong thing at the end of the numattacks stuff
[Fri Jan 2 18:52:55 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: You talking about the Act_string one?
[Fri Jan 2 18:52:47 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: The only one I forgot was the FotE Numattacks.
[Fri Jan 2 18:52:39 2009] [Server01:ichat] Keberus@SW:TGA: I hate posting a messed up fix to a bug....but it happens
[Fri Jan 2 18:52:18 2009] [Server01:ichat] Keberus@SW:TGA: Heh
[Fri Jan 2 18:52:09 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: I hate forgetting to post a bugfix.
[Fri Jan 2 18:50:02 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: if you look at basics like cost of petrol, bread and milk as indicators
[Fri Jan 2 18:49:36 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: there is not a lot of difference between us after exchange, our costs of living are fairly simular
[Fri Jan 2 18:47:28 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: internationally it's just meaningless
[Fri Jan 2 18:47:22 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: but if the exchange rate keeps going to crap it wont be for long
[Fri Jan 2 18:47:22 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: so even examining soldier's pay's buying power domestically is iffy
[Fri Jan 2 18:46:17 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: the american economy varies drastically state to state
[Fri Jan 2 18:46:03 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: not sure there's much of a fair comparison you can make there
[Fri Jan 2 18:45:41 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: ok so on a $ for $ basis we are likely to be paid slightly better even after echange rates
[Fri Jan 2 18:44:46 2009] [Server01:ichat] Samael@6Dragons: Kayle, if you qualify for most of the crap they give you and you go to college, then it jumps to about 33k a year.
[Fri Jan 2 18:44:15 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: i was going to compare it to what we get, i think a basic soldier out of training gets about 45K a year
[Fri Jan 2 18:44:11 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: i had nowhere to spend it, so as small as the pay was, it just accumulated and accumulated
[Fri Jan 2 18:44:01 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: $20k a year give or take for a private fresh out of basic.
[Fri Jan 2 18:43:49 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: when i came back from my deployment i was fucking loaded with money
[Fri Jan 2 18:43:24 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: but for a 19 year old that doesn t have to pay rent/food/clothes, it looks like a lot of money
[Fri Jan 2 18:43:04 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: just a basic private out of training
[Fri Jan 2 18:43:00 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: i've been out long enough that i have no earthly idea
[Fri Jan 2 18:42:49 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: depends on rank and seniority
[Fri Jan 2 18:42:39 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: whats a standard soldier get per year
[Fri Jan 2 18:42:32 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: the assumption is that you dont need to pay for clothes, lodging, or food
[Fri Jan 2 18:42:12 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: Military Wages are way low. :P
[Fri Jan 2 18:40:33 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: dont know what military wages are like in the US
[Fri Jan 2 18:40:20 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: maybe they pay well
[Fri Jan 2 18:40:10 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: true that, but it just seems strange to change sides in such a large way
[Fri Jan 2 18:39:36 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: you dont have to make it a hugely high profile "previously other side" guy
[Fri Jan 2 18:39:33 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: well the cia has plants in just about everywhere, sometimes they are really obvious
[Fri Jan 2 18:39:07 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: it's easy enough to get proper spies into a company
[Fri Jan 2 18:38:49 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: dunno what he's supposed to spy on
[Fri Jan 2 18:38:38 2009] [Server01:ichat] Samael@6Dragons: says "No U!" to Cratylus@Dead_Souls.
[Fri Jan 2 18:38:27 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: that seems like a rather large flip flop yes
[Fri Jan 2 18:38:16 2009] [Server01:ichat] Samael@6Dragons: oh that. kk.
[Fri Jan 2 18:37:55 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: im going back to crats doco about Al Jazeera and the US militry media guy left the army and went to work for Al Jazeera
[Fri Jan 2 18:37:46 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: then stfu
[Fri Jan 2 18:37:41 2009] [Server01:ichat] Samael@6Dragons: lol, but this is more from lack of interest than actual neglect of attention.
[Fri Jan 2 18:37:06 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: samael, get some imc log access already
[Fri Jan 2 18:36:48 2009] [Server01:ichat] Samael@6Dragons: still don't know what your talking about Fury.
[Fri Jan 2 18:36:42 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: i wonder if he was planted as a spy
[Fri Jan 2 18:36:38 2009] [Server01:ichat] Samael@6Dragons: ...
[Fri Jan 2 18:36:25 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: Lt Josh Rushing later joined the staff of Al Jazeera English, after leaving the United States Marine Corps
[Fri Jan 2 18:35:51 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: "catch my hammer"
[Fri Jan 2 18:35:35 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: Hammerfall
[Fri Jan 2 18:35:34 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: Oh lol
[Fri Jan 2 18:35:30 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: a Game on Facebook
[Fri Jan 2 18:35:23 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: what are you playing Kayle
[Fri Jan 2 18:35:07 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: And I so left off the "
[Fri Jan 2 18:35:01 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: "Sarcasm -- Just another ~RFREE~c service I provide.
[Fri Jan 2 18:34:48 2009] [Server01:ichat] Samael@6Dragons: imo BBC reporting isn't bad, they tend to rehash things though like that terrorist attack on mumbai.
[Fri Jan 2 18:34:45 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: but the commentators, wtf
[Fri Jan 2 18:34:37 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: like, the news reporters do hard news
[Fri Jan 2 18:34:31 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: Fuck it. I give up. 80 some spiders dead, 10 Long Bows, and 76 Webs. >.< I'll play again later.
[Fri Jan 2 18:34:23 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: but the editorial stuff is over the top
[Fri Jan 2 18:34:17 2009] [Server01:ichat] Samael@6Dragons: you seem to have so many for every occasion.
[Fri Jan 2 18:34:15 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: imo fox reporting is actually not bad
[Fri Jan 2 18:34:07 2009] [Server01:ichat] Samael@6Dragons: nope, your sarcastic comments crat what else?
[Fri Jan 2 18:33:38 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: what tipped you off? the emails saying just that?
[Fri Jan 2 18:33:38 2009] [Server01:ichat] Samael@6Dragons: they can't even LOOK like they aren't, that's how much I'm talking about.
[Fri Jan 2 18:33:28 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: gee ythink?
[Fri Jan 2 18:33:23 2009] [Server01:ichat] Samael@6Dragons: they're biased.
[Fri Jan 2 18:33:15 2009] [Server01:ichat] Samael@6Dragons: lies
[Fri Jan 2 18:32:53 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: overcompensating so THEY wouldnt look like the biased ones
[Fri Jan 2 18:32:41 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: i think fox was quicker to call it for obama
[Fri Jan 2 18:32:31 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: personally i like the PBS coverage of Brooks and Shields, one from each camp discussing aspects of the campain
[Fri Jan 2 18:32:29 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: fox does it too
[Fri Jan 2 18:31:35 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: your likely to be correct in that Crat
[Fri Jan 2 18:31:19 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: but they had to overcompensate so they wouldnt look biased
[Fri Jan 2 18:31:04 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: reality-based reporting would have required reporters to be like "he's fucked. cmon look at these numbers"
[Fri Jan 2 18:30:59 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: it might also have been because Our ABC was filtering the bits it wanted to use, ABC Australian Broad Casting
[Fri Jan 2 18:30:45 2009] [Server01:ichat] Samael@6Dragons: I don't watch alot of news period. so If I was mistaken, I was listening to some dude on the radio like everyday for a week and a half(he comes on ALOT) who also has a spot on tv, so yeah.
[Fri Jan 2 18:30:33 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: yes
[Fri Jan 2 18:30:24 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: during the election night we were forced to have Cnn updates, i found that it gave a ver McCain cnetric view, but that might have been because he was loosing so bad
[Fri Jan 2 18:29:40 2009] [Server01:ichat] Davion@ADP: Davion@ADP grins evilly.
[Fri Jan 2 18:29:37 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: but i'd be surprised
[Fri Jan 2 18:29:35 2009] [Server01:ichat] Davion@ADP: Things change- people change!
[Fri Jan 2 18:29:33 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: maybe they changed in 2 years
[Fri Jan 2 18:29:23 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: used to
[Fri Jan 2 18:29:18 2009] [Server01:ichat] Davion@ADP: So how do you know?
[Fri Jan 2 18:28:49 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: i'm not like, in love with them. like i said, i dont even watch them
[Fri Jan 2 18:28:21 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: and i think it's like an obsession with them
[Fri Jan 2 18:28:08 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: i srsly think cnn does the best job of being centirst
[Fri Jan 2 18:27:52 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: Gah. this is so gay. I wish these damn spiders would give me the drop I'm looking for. =/
[Fri Jan 2 18:27:20 2009] [Server01:ichat] Razot@6Dragons: since American left is like, center right in europe terms :P
[Fri Jan 2 18:27:11 2009] [Server01:ichat] Razot@6Dragons: or european
[Fri Jan 2 18:26:52 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: if you think cnn is rightish, You May Be A Hippie
[Fri Jan 2 18:26:52 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: i find that US media gives the most biased views both left and right on any subject and as such i rarely watch any US media
[Fri Jan 2 18:26:30 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: i have to say, samael, i'm not sure your opinion is a majority one
[Fri Jan 2 18:26:25 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: That's what the 4 day long debate boiled down to last time we had this discussion.
[Fri Jan 2 18:26:12 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: Uh.. CNN is Leftside. FoxNews is right side.
[Fri Jan 2 18:25:39 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: that's interesting to me
[Fri Jan 2 18:25:26 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: k
[Fri Jan 2 18:25:20 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: i think fury was saying it had a rightwing bias a month or so ago
[Fri Jan 2 18:25:17 2009] [Server01:ichat] Samael@6Dragons: Reps
[Fri Jan 2 18:24:37 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: left or right?
[Fri Jan 2 18:24:33 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: what bias do you think it has?
[Fri Jan 2 18:24:26 2009] [Server01:ichat] Samael@6Dragons: whatever you say Crat:p
[Fri Jan 2 18:24:12 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: i actually dont even watch cnn because it tries so hard not to offend anyone
[Fri Jan 2 18:24:06 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: LOL the only time the media is not biased is when it agrees with your position
[Fri Jan 2 18:23:46 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: It lasted for like 4 days last time.
[Fri Jan 2 18:23:39 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: Let's not get into this debate again
[Fri Jan 2 18:23:39 2009] [Server01:ichat] Samael@6Dragons: lol:p
[Fri Jan 2 18:23:30 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: wut
[Fri Jan 2 18:23:24 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: erm
[Fri Jan 2 18:23:18 2009] [Server01:ichat] Samael@6Dragons: of course media is biased, especially that fucking CNN >.<
[Fri Jan 2 18:22:20 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: shock horror there, i would have thought it was a given that media is biased
[Fri Jan 2 18:21:53 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: A crucial point in the documentary comes with Lt. Rushing's realization that Fox News displays that same lack of objectivity which he accuses Al-Jazeera of perpetuating - his conclusion drives home the point that media bias is institutionalized on both sides.
[Fri Jan 2 18:17:09 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Control_Room_(film)
[Fri Jan 2 18:17:06 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: i saw one on them a few years back too, dont remeber much about it however
[Fri Jan 2 18:16:38 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: watched a documentary about them, pretty interesting
[Fri Jan 2 18:16:27 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: i understand theyre really like a normal news source
[Fri Jan 2 18:16:03 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: heh
[Fri Jan 2 18:15:41 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: can we get a news feed from al jazera
[Fri Jan 2 18:11:34 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: I'm glad David and I came up with that idea. :P
[Fri Jan 2 18:11:21 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: It's kinda nifty.
[Fri Jan 2 18:11:13 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: I like having the news separated.
[Fri Jan 2 18:09:29 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: but im not running out of things to chop
[Fri Jan 2 18:09:01 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: before 93927 after 91147
[Fri Jan 2 18:09:00 2009] [Server01:ichat] Davion@ADP: wc -l *.[ch]
[Fri Jan 2 18:05:30 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: Here's some baselines for you Fury: http://www.smaugmuds.org/index.php?a=topic&t=3930~p=16563#p16563
[Fri Jan 2 18:00:11 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: I still enjoy the fact that between my two bases I have $9mil worth of work. lol
[Fri Jan 2 17:58:59 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: gotta get it again
[Fri Jan 2 17:58:50 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: looks like i deleted it
[Fri Jan 2 17:58:33 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: or I think yours was c_count or something
[Fri Jan 2 17:58:20 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: sloccount
[Fri Jan 2 17:57:17 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: what was the name of that program for checking how many lines of code you have
[Fri Jan 2 17:56:11 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: about to check out how much code i removed yesterday
[Fri Jan 2 17:55:25 2009] [Server01:ichat] Samael@6Dragons: 'sup Furr
[Fri Jan 2 17:54:36 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: Morning all
[Fri Jan 2 17:48:37 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: Ok, lack of cohesiveness to the plot. :P
[Fri Jan 2 17:48:18 2009] [Server01:ichat] Samael@6Dragons: :p
[Fri Jan 2 17:48:03 2009] [Server01:ichat] Davion@ADP: A plotless movie full of plot twists? Interesting assessment ;)
[Fri Jan 2 17:47:58 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: But it's not something I'd recommend to others.
[Fri Jan 2 17:47:01 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: If you ignore the plot, or lack thereof, it's not a bad movie. it could have been a lot worse.
[Fri Jan 2 17:46:45 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: One minute he's being painted as a patriot, the next a terrorist, and then back to patriot. That's how the whole movie goes.
[Fri Jan 2 17:46:10 2009] [Server01:ichat] Samael@6Dragons: sounds boring Kayle
[Fri Jan 2 17:45:57 2009] [Server01:ichat] Samael@6Dragons: it's TOES got more converage than it did
[Fri Jan 2 17:45:54 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: Traitor very slow, drawn-out, and full of twists and turns. And more about the religion behind islamic terrorism, then anything thing else.
[Fri Jan 2 17:45:48 2009] [Server01:ichat] Samael@6Dragons: I was expecting some kind of monster attack, but not, monster showed up like 3 times for about 5 seconds each...
[Fri Jan 2 17:45:27 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: It's 10 times worse then Blair Witch Project.
[Fri Jan 2 17:45:16 2009] [Server01:ichat] Samael@6Dragons: some crappy ass love story.
[Fri Jan 2 17:45:08 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: Every time I've tried, I've had to turn it off because I get nauseous.
[Fri Jan 2 17:45:04 2009] [Server01:ichat] Samael@6Dragons: it's so dumb, don't
[Fri Jan 2 17:44:48 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: I can't watch Cloverfield.
[Fri Jan 2 17:44:33 2009] [Server01:ichat] Samael@6Dragons: now you know how I feel about cloverfield:p
[Fri Jan 2 17:44:09 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: the movie is the complete opposite of what was advertised. It's not some fast paced anti-terrorism thriller like the initial previews made it look.
[Fri Jan 2 17:43:13 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: In the scenes where he was actually kicking ass. Yes. But there were only 3 scenes where he was actually kicking ass.
[Fri Jan 2 17:42:43 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sinistrad@Dead_Souls: Was Don Cheadle convincing as a guy who can kick ass?
[Fri Jan 2 17:37:35 2009] [Server01:ichat] Samael@6Dragons: http://tinyurl.com/ftexas
[Fri Jan 2 17:33:18 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: It was an alright movie. Too many plot twists though. Almost made it hard to follow.
[Fri Jan 2 17:33:01 2009] [Server01:ichat] Samael@6Dragons: was it good?
[Fri Jan 2 17:32:51 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: Traitor
[Fri Jan 2 17:31:53 2009] [Server01:ichat] Samael@6Dragons: what movie?
[Fri Jan 2 17:31:41 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: the movie just finished. :P
[Fri Jan 2 17:31:25 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: he said something about playing some kinda flash game or somethin
[Fri Jan 2 17:31:10 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: you might have just missed him
[Fri Jan 2 17:30:57 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: Sinis, you around?
[Fri Jan 2 17:21:55 2009] [Server01:ichat] Davion@ADP: Davion@ADP twitches nervously.
[Fri Jan 2 17:21:47 2009] [Server01:ichat] Samael@6Dragons: and it didn't have the blasted stripe either
[Fri Jan 2 17:21:36 2009] [Server01:ichat] Samael@6Dragons: yup.
[Fri Jan 2 17:21:08 2009] [Server01:ichat] Davion@ADP: Oh I hated those IDE cables without that single notch missing
[Fri Jan 2 17:09:00 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kline@AF: I'm so grateful when they bundled them in a single connector head
[Fri Jan 2 17:08:54 2009] [Server01:ichat] Samael@6Dragons: I've only messed up once, and I put the fricking cable, the hdd cable backways, this was before SATA :p
[Fri Jan 2 17:08:48 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kline@AF: Yeah, it was like 6 or 8 single prong wires
[Fri Jan 2 17:08:28 2009] [Server01:ichat] Samael@6Dragons: rofl, you all suck :p
[Fri Jan 2 17:08:27 2009] [Server01:ichat] Davion@ADP: All those single prong POS's?
[Fri Jan 2 17:08:17 2009] [Server01:ichat] Davion@ADP: Oh gawd ya
[Fri Jan 2 17:08:09 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kline@AF: Front panel USB used to be the -worst-
[Fri Jan 2 17:08:01 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kline@AF: Yeah I love when they come bundled as one lump
[Fri Jan 2 17:07:43 2009] [Server01:ichat] Davion@ADP: I got the antec skeleton case so I can see everything
[Fri Jan 2 17:07:20 2009] [Server01:ichat] Davion@ADP: Though, the MoBo I got had a quick plug for them. <3 asus
[Fri Jan 2 17:07:16 2009] [Server01:ichat] Samael@6Dragons: lol:p
[Fri Jan 2 17:07:09 2009] [Server01:ichat] Davion@ADP: Ya! Those are annoying
[Fri Jan 2 17:07:00 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kline@AF: Er, not jumpers, the power/reset/hdd light/etc cables
[Fri Jan 2 17:07:00 2009] [Server01:ichat] Davion@ADP: Davion@ADP nods.
[Fri Jan 2 17:06:47 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kline@AF: Usually I put jumpers on backwards
[Fri Jan 2 17:06:41 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kline@AF: Haha, yeah I've never...Maybe once ever built a PC 100% correct on the first try
[Fri Jan 2 17:06:00 2009] [Server01:ichat] Davion@ADP: Davion@ADP bows deeply.
[Fri Jan 2 17:05:48 2009] [Server01:ichat] Samael@6Dragons: well... congratz are in order then
[Fri Jan 2 17:04:58 2009] [Server01:ichat] Davion@ADP: Seriously! Usually I forget jumper settings or set voltage to high (or to low)
[Fri Jan 2 17:04:41 2009] [Server01:ichat] Samael@6Dragons: lies
[Fri Jan 2 17:04:33 2009] [Server01:ichat] Davion@ADP: Wow... that's the first time I've built a PC and it booted up and worked flawlessly from the get go! :D
[Fri Jan 2 15:41:55 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sinistrad@Dead_Souls: Have fun!
[Fri Jan 2 15:41:51 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: Alright, pressing play. :P
[Fri Jan 2 15:41:49 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sinistrad@Dead_Souls: Makes movies more enjoyable
[Fri Jan 2 15:41:42 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sinistrad@Dead_Souls: No, really, it helps
[Fri Jan 2 15:41:36 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: :P
[Fri Jan 2 15:41:31 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sinistrad@Dead_Souls: Now you can actually watch it and not be disappointed
[Fri Jan 2 15:41:23 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sinistrad@Dead_Souls: =)
[Fri Jan 2 15:41:14 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: RT gives Traitor a 55%
[Fri Jan 2 15:41:10 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sinistrad@Dead_Souls: Mischan
[Fri Jan 2 15:41:02 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sinistrad@Dead_Souls: Stop being a leecher
[Fri Jan 2 15:40:23 2009] [Server01:ichat] Razot@6Dragons: Yeah, it's just funny how much advertising and slick trailers can overcome vicious reviews
[Fri Jan 2 15:39:50 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sinistrad@Dead_Souls: Well, since RT is just a review aggregator, that just speaks about most critic's opinions of major blockbusters
[Fri Jan 2 15:39:03 2009] [Server01:ichat] Razot@6Dragons: I like how RT consistently scores the best money makers as garbage, haha
[Fri Jan 2 15:38:11 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sinistrad@Dead_Souls: It helps avoid disappointment
[Fri Jan 2 15:38:03 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sinistrad@Dead_Souls: I'd glance at Rottentomatos really quickly to set expectations
[Fri Jan 2 15:35:38 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: It looks pretty good from the previews. But so did a lot of other movies. ;)
[Fri Jan 2 15:35:10 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: Will do.
[Fri Jan 2 15:35:02 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sinistrad@Dead_Souls: Let me know how it is.
[Fri Jan 2 15:35:01 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: Yeah
[Fri Jan 2 15:34:55 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sinistrad@Dead_Souls: Don Cheadle acting tough?
[Fri Jan 2 15:34:46 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: Going to go watch Traitor. back later.
[Fri Jan 2 15:27:17 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: aside from the TMC one not working?
[Fri Jan 2 15:27:11 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: Anyone see any problems with the news feeds?
[Fri Jan 2 14:59:58 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: Real World news is on inews, and Mud news is on imudnews
[Fri Jan 2 14:59:38 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sinistrad@Dead_Souls: Thank God, I can finally turn CNN back on
[Fri Jan 2 14:58:47 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: Mud News, and Real World news are now separated.
[Fri Jan 2 14:58:17 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: Sweet.
[Fri Jan 2 14:54:21 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sinistrad@Dead_Souls: Sweet, the power cable!
[Fri Jan 2 14:53:37 2009] [Server01:ichat] Davion@ADP: My PC parts arrived!
[Fri Jan 2 14:53:29 2009] [Server01:ichat] Davion@ADP: Davion@ADP beams broadly at nothing in particular.
[Fri Jan 2 14:40:08 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: Now to figure out how to make MegaBot monitor and broadcast on the new channel.
[Fri Jan 2 14:34:35 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: there should be less spam this time
[Fri Jan 2 14:33:07 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: TMS is mighty spammy though
[Fri Jan 2 14:31:19 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: maybe he'll pipe up about it
[Fri Jan 2 14:31:14 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: bailey got it to work for him
[Fri Jan 2 14:30:24 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: the TMC feed appears to not work
[Fri Jan 2 14:30:01 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sinistrad@Dead_Souls: I have him on mute
[Fri Jan 2 14:29:56 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sinistrad@Dead_Souls: Oh, you're talking to Crat
[Fri Jan 2 14:29:43 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sinistrad@Dead_Souls: First the comics, then the prequel movie, then finish up the videogame
[Fri Jan 2 14:29:42 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: I meant about the MegaBot
[Fri Jan 2 14:29:31 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sinistrad@Dead_Souls: Did you? I must've missed it. Found the animated comics online
[Fri Jan 2 14:29:19 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: Told you. XD
[Fri Jan 2 14:29:10 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sinistrad@Dead_Souls: It's a wee bit more interesting than I expected
[Fri Jan 2 14:29:07 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sinistrad@Dead_Souls: This Dead Space videogame has a pretty convoluted backstory
[Fri Jan 2 14:22:33 2009] [Server01:ichat] Raudhrskal@Dead_Souls: it's either configurable in the admin panel, or it's always up to date, and the refresh is configurable in the rss client...
[Fri Jan 2 14:21:52 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: I'm going to try adding it to the MegaBot feeds.
[Fri Jan 2 14:19:16 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: ive no idea how it works, really
[Fri Jan 2 14:19:06 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: beats me
[Fri Jan 2 14:17:56 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: Crat, how often to the lpmuds.net rss feeds update?
[Fri Jan 2 14:06:06 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: cockumentary
[Fri Jan 2 14:03:48 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sinistrad@Dead_Souls: They have those?
[Fri Jan 2 14:03:38 2009] [Server01:ichat] Tique@Discworld: it's worse when you're trying to watch a documentary about roosters.
[Fri Jan 2 14:03:27 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sinistrad@Dead_Souls: I apologize
[Fri Jan 2 14:03:23 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sinistrad@Dead_Souls: Sorry for that, that second one -was- about female genitalia
[Fri Jan 2 14:03:07 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sinistrad@Dead_Souls: Err
[Fri Jan 2 14:03:05 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sinistrad@Dead_Souls: Gets in the way of watching porn, can't have pussy in the way of pussy
[Fri Jan 2 14:02:48 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sinistrad@Dead_Souls: It's all true, though, my cats pretty much wanna be in the way when I'm working on the computer
[Fri Jan 2 14:01:24 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sinistrad@Dead_Souls: A few seconds, I'm pretty smart
[Fri Jan 2 14:01:12 2009] [Server01:ichat] Tique@Discworld: how long have you been working on that one?
[Fri Jan 2 14:00:49 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sinistrad@Dead_Souls: So to get one off I'll buck my hips against the pussy while I use my hand to rub the other pussy
[Fri Jan 2 14:00:13 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sinistrad@Dead_Souls: Sometimes one cat will jump on my lap and just lay there, while the other one just flops on the mousepad
[Fri Jan 2 14:00:12 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: can't have them going wild, dude
[Fri Jan 2 13:59:08 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sinistrad@Dead_Souls: I wanna be able to put my hand in between the pussy without getting scratched
[Fri Jan 2 13:58:48 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: tame the pussy
[Fri Jan 2 13:58:42 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: gotta show that pussy who's boss
[Fri Jan 2 13:58:31 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sinistrad@Dead_Souls: Spank that pussy
[Fri Jan 2 13:58:25 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sinistrad@Dead_Souls: Aw, I spank my cats when they act up, they're pretty relaxed now
[Fri Jan 2 13:58:10 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sinistrad@Dead_Souls: "See, I'm not covering up the mouse", he tinks
[Fri Jan 2 13:58:06 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: Then when I went to try to use said mouse he attacked my hand like I'd done something horribly mean to him. Wtf?
[Fri Jan 2 13:57:55 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sinistrad@Dead_Souls: Wraps around the mouse, kinda
[Fri Jan 2 13:57:41 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sinistrad@Dead_Souls: One of my cats does that all the time
[Fri Jan 2 13:57:26 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: My cat has decided to take over the space where my mouse sits.
[Fri Jan 2 13:57:21 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sinistrad@Dead_Souls: I'm not sure someone here gets it =)
[Fri Jan 2 13:57:09 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: Rastafarian coast
[Fri Jan 2 13:57:00 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: Pastafarian coast
[Fri Jan 2 13:56:25 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: pastramion coast
[Fri Jan 2 13:55:51 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sinistrad@Dead_Souls: You mean Space Coast
[Fri Jan 2 13:55:26 2009] [Server01:ichat] Kayle@MW: Space Ghost Coast
[Fri Jan 2 13:54:47 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: fatherson and hoalie coast
[Fri Jan 2 13:50:08 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sinistrad@Dead_Souls: Coast in the Shell
[Fri Jan 2 13:49:45 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sinistrad@Dead_Souls: (wink wink)
[Fri Jan 2 13:49:36 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: (if you know what i mean)
[Fri Jan 2 13:49:21 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: give up the coast
[Fri Jan 2 13:49:05 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: great caesar's coast
[Fri Jan 2 13:49:04 2009] [Server01:ichat] Danell@6Dragons: *goes back to building*
[Fri Jan 2 13:48:59 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sinistrad@Dead_Souls: Sappy Nude Year!
[Fri Jan 2 13:48:53 2009] [Server01:ichat] Danell@6Dragons: one more thing, happy new year everyone
[Fri Jan 2 13:48:33 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sinistrad@Dead_Souls: Cratpeg Coast
[Fri Jan 2 13:48:30 2009] [Server01:ichat] Danell@6Dragons: thanks!
[Fri Jan 2 13:48:11 2009] [Server01:ichat] Danell@6Dragons: thanks, i needed sometihng, just finished an area and couldn't get out of the "cave" mindset, heh
[Fri Jan 2 13:47:52 2009] [Server01:ichat] Cratylus@Dead_Souls: ghost
[Fri Jan 2 13:47:38 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sinistrad@Dead_Souls: You know there's just way too many choices
[Fri Jan 2 13:47:28 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sinistrad@Dead_Souls: Golden Coast, Dragon Coast, Shadowcliff Coast, Braunworks Coast, Goldstadt Coast, Memory Coast
[Fri Jan 2 13:46:20 2009] [Server01:ichat] Danell@6Dragons: I need an idea, makeing a coast area "somthing coast" any good idea's for names?
[Fri Jan 2 13:45:59 2009] [Server01:ichat] Danell@6Dragons: hey anyone around?
[Fri Jan 2 12:00:28 2009] [Server01:ichat] Raudhrskal@Dead_Souls: if yer still interested, you may try http://85.89.177.37/~wrkq/wrkq-termsettings.term . Just note that default shell is set to zsh, you may want to change it to bash or whatever.
[Fri Jan 2 11:17:06 2009] [Server01:ichat] Noplex@Talon: Its the one thing I didn't back up.
[Fri Jan 2 11:17:00 2009] [Server01:ichat] Noplex@Talon: Ugh, I hate this thing.
[Fri Jan 2 11:16:55 2009] [Server01:ichat] Noplex@Talon: Anyone know offhand the terminal settings in order to fix Apple's termina
[Fri Jan 2 09:04:42 2009] [Server01:ichat] Noplex@Talon: Hullo
[Fri Jan 2 07:16:55 2009] [Server01:ichat] Vladaar@6Dragons: night
[Fri Jan 2 07:16:43 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: anyways, im going to head to bed, night all its been fun chatting
[Fri Jan 2 07:14:07 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: or just make a dunk hunter quest and simular, or force your dragons to only use the sky
[Fri Jan 2 07:12:41 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: every few weeks ducks invade the skys and shooting them down earns you qp
[Fri Jan 2 07:12:26 2009] [Server01:ichat] Vladaar@6Dragons: just would save me more space to expand on ground wilderness. I would like to make ocean underwater wilderness though we have neat swim code here that shows how much breath you got left.
[Fri Jan 2 07:12:09 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: a new feature, Duck Hunter
[Fri Jan 2 07:11:50 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: or shot guns
[Fri Jan 2 07:11:37 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: put birds in there and let people shoot them down with arrows
[Fri Jan 2 07:11:02 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: unless there is something there to make you have to go there its not a lot of point, other than for braging rights
[Fri Jan 2 07:10:57 2009] [Server01:ichat] Vladaar@6Dragons: not many opportunities to put areas in the sky anyway, a floating city here, a heaven area there
[Fri Jan 2 07:10:33 2009] [Server01:ichat] Vladaar@6Dragons: I am thinking of removing my sky wilderness, it doesn't get much use.
[Fri Jan 2 07:09:26 2009] [Server01:ichat] Vladaar@6Dragons: no
[Fri Jan 2 07:09:18 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: do you use diagonals on your wilds, i dont remember
[Fri Jan 2 07:08:47 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: i wonder if i can write some code to make my images into zones
[Fri Jan 2 07:08:15 2009] [Server01:ichat] Vladaar@6Dragons: rgrid pumps out 3000 vnum zone like nothing
[Fri Jan 2 07:08:06 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: lol
[Fri Jan 2 07:07:59 2009] [Server01:ichat] Vladaar@6Dragons: rat command
[Fri Jan 2 07:07:43 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: just the editing of the sector types would suck, how did you manage to do all yours like that
[Fri Jan 2 07:07:03 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: but making 10K odd rooms would kill me
[Fri Jan 2 07:05:46 2009] [Server01:ichat] Vladaar@6Dragons: yah I can imagine
[Fri Jan 2 07:05:34 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: it would make things like ranged combat work right and hunt among other tings
[Fri Jan 2 07:04:38 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: if it was not a pain in the ass to make zones like your wilds i would do it just because it would make life easier
[Fri Jan 2 07:03:46 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: my absence of vnums makes a lot of those things not work for me
[Fri Jan 2 07:03:19 2009] [Server01:ichat] Vladaar@6Dragons: players love that whereis code in tutorial cities
[Fri Jan 2 07:03:08 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: yeah you should release that code to me :)
[Fri Jan 2 07:03:07 2009] [Server01:ichat] Vladaar@6Dragons: his whereis code though is cool
[Fri Jan 2 07:02:50 2009] [Server01:ichat] Vladaar@6Dragons: I dont need the task code, have quest code that does same thing.
[Fri Jan 2 07:02:09 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: just for the task code its worth it
[Fri Jan 2 07:01:39 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: it is somewhat limited, but what it does it does well, i think DH sometimes is looking at a different picture to the rest of our needs
[Fri Jan 2 07:00:25 2009] [Server01:ichat] Vladaar@6Dragons: I have nick gammon's lua, but beyond what he has done we haven't expanded. I don't know if gonna go that route, David Haley says it is limited the way Nick did it. Maybe look at DG scripts instead to go with oasis
[Fri Jan 2 06:59:34 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: samsons sql snip
[Fri Jan 2 06:58:59 2009] [Server01:ichat] Vladaar@6Dragons: Bexar put my helpfiles into mysql other day
[Fri Jan 2 06:58:55 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: i was thinking of putting nick gammons lua snip into this just to use lua resets on the few things that actually need resets and removing the reset code
[Fri Jan 2 06:57:59 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: shhh you, your making me more work, however i agree with you, that would be the smart thing to do
[Fri Jan 2 06:57:19 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: it has reduced my memory footprint a lot by not loading 1000's of objects on mobs that no one is looking at, just load them on death and drop them to the room
[Fri Jan 2 06:57:00 2009] [Server01:ichat] Vladaar@6Dragons: you should put your static city items into mysql database, and do loads for them too, and just get rid of resets then, heh
[Fri Jan 2 06:56:13 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: no because i use resets in the main city
[Fri Jan 2 06:56:00 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: if i want something static i can load it onto any mob i like without the need of resets, i just add a single line to the mob load function for that instance
[Fri Jan 2 06:55:45 2009] [Server01:ichat] Vladaar@6Dragons: so did u take reset code out then fury?
[Fri Jan 2 06:55:04 2009] [Server01:ichat] Exodus@LostProphecy: Exodus@LostProphecy sits down and thinks deeply.
[Fri Jan 2 06:54:55 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: no
[Fri Jan 2 06:54:46 2009] [Server01:ichat] Exodus@LostProphecy: no static equipment on the npcs?
[Fri Jan 2 06:54:25 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: sorry bout that, i generate all my drops already, so doing the instances is just a matter of loading mobs into the emopty rooms
[Fri Jan 2 06:54:19 2009] [Server01:ichat] Exodus@LostProphecy: really made level differences important - if something was 100 levels higher than you, you pretty much didn't look at it a second time
[Fri Jan 2 06:54:01 2009] [Server01:ichat] Vladaar@6Dragons: I would like to get more oasis olc here, eventually.
[Fri Jan 2 06:53:50 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: stupid isp
[Fri Jan 2 06:53:37 2009] [Server01:ichat] Exodus@LostProphecy: its easier for formulas too. used to take awhile to figure out what attributes and hitpoints and such a level 5 gnome had compared to a level 999 gnome
[Fri Jan 2 06:52:40 2009] [Server01:ichat] Vladaar@6Dragons: can really template up that way
[Fri Jan 2 06:52:25 2009] [Server01:ichat] Vladaar@6Dragons: yep, thats also why added oasis code, buildwalk and rgrid here
[Fri Jan 2 06:52:17 2009] [Server01:ichat] Exodus@LostProphecy: plus I don't have to worry about crazy builders making the game balance go all out of whack heh
[Fri Jan 2 06:51:54 2009] [Server01:ichat] Exodus@LostProphecy: saves tons of time
[Fri Jan 2 06:51:51 2009] [Server01:ichat] Exodus@LostProphecy: then they just tweak it a little from there and move on
[Fri Jan 2 06:51:44 2009] [Server01:ichat] Exodus@LostProphecy: basically your builder wants a gnome warrior for a guard, they use one short command and bam, there's a level whatever gnome warrior with full stats and abilities of that particular race and profession
[Fri Jan 2 06:50:42 2009] [Server01:ichat] Exodus@LostProphecy: Exodus@LostProphecy agrees with Vladaar@6Dragons.
[Fri Jan 2 06:49:57 2009] [Server01:ichat] Exodus@LostProphecy: I've got like 260ish different monster types already
[Fri Jan 2 06:49:50 2009] [Server01:ichat] Vladaar@6Dragons: mine are partial to the point that keeps game balanced in power on weapons and armor. However, I like templates, saves builders a lot of work too. Just as long as doesn't stop them from being creative
[Fri Jan 2 06:49:30 2009] [Server01:ichat] Exodus@LostProphecy: always loved the idea of an auto-generated mud but setting up templates with enough complexity takes forever
[Fri Jan 2 06:48:42 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: you can do it either way, mine are all generated
[Fri Jan 2 06:48:20 2009] [Server01:ichat] Exodus@LostProphecy: are all mobs/items auto-generated based on templates or partially?
[Fri Jan 2 06:48:05 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: it would be fiddley to do, but not imposible
[Fri Jan 2 06:48:04 2009] [Server01:ichat] Exodus@LostProphecy: how far have you gone with that template business?
[Fri Jan 2 06:47:35 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: aye load 1 copy of the zone, then increment only the rooms on the instance load, the mobs and obs can be loaded from the template
[Fri Jan 2 06:46:42 2009] [Server01:ichat] Exodus@LostProphecy: mobs/rooms are fine, but items would have to be saved in a common area that's always loaded for that to work
[Fri Jan 2 06:46:39 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: you only need to incremoent the rooms, mobs and objs can be from the template area
[Fri Jan 2 06:46:25 2009] [Server01:ichat] Exodus@LostProphecy: if the associated index item doesn't exist (area it's from isn't loaded) they don't load their player file with it
[Fri Jan 2 06:45:56 2009] [Server01:ichat] Exodus@LostProphecy: not in smaug bases
[Fri Jan 2 06:45:45 2009] [Server01:ichat] Exodus@LostProphecy: once they went through the area, they just need to rezone or something
[Fri Jan 2 06:45:41 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: dont players keep a local copy of items even if the zone is no longer loaded
[Fri Jan 2 06:45:22 2009] [Server01:ichat] Exodus@LostProphecy: though that would save a significant amount of effort in the main loop not having to reset areas
[Fri Jan 2 06:45:07 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: exactly
[Fri Jan 2 06:44:32 2009] [Server01:ichat] Vladaar@6Dragons: oh yah that is a good idea, if you did 2000 vnums and could figure would never have more then 20 players loading tutorial at same time
[Fri Jan 2 06:44:28 2009] [Server01:ichat] Exodus@LostProphecy: only kicker with that is things you wanted to persist outside of the area - items and the like they looted from it would need to be saved elsewhere so they don't poof when it gets unloaded
[Fri Jan 2 06:44:21 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: putting it all on a timer makes sence, and not haveing the are reset at all
[Fri Jan 2 06:43:45 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: one way would be to load a fresh copy but incrementing the vnums by 100, so zone 4000 becomes zone 4100, then unloading the whole thing when its been not being used anymore
[Fri Jan 2 06:42:47 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: you can do the whole thing with 1 template, its just more complecated
[Fri Jan 2 06:42:17 2009] [Server01:ichat] Vladaar@6Dragons: I often wonder how like IRE does their instance area tutorials with hundreds of players running through them all the time.
[Fri Jan 2 06:42:02 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: only when someone wants to do that quest
[Fri Jan 2 06:41:54 2009] [Server01:ichat] Exodus@LostProphecy: I always worried about doing that. Loading up a very large full area every time someone enters, and then unloading it when their done
[Fri Jan 2 06:41:45 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: yes i do, i load 10 copies of the areas, but its only rooms, the zone is loaded with mobs that have a 30 min timer before being extracted again
[Fri Jan 2 06:41:17 2009] [Server01:ichat] Exodus@LostProphecy: oh, that's not too bad then
[Fri Jan 2 06:41:07 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: no not at all, because all im loading is rooms, no mobs, objects or anything, static rooms do not load up the game
[Fri Jan 2 06:41:02 2009] [Server01:ichat] Exodus@LostProphecy: sounds like he had 10 copies loaded
[Fri Jan 2 06:40:39 2009] [Server01:ichat] Vladaar@6Dragons: that is what Fury does I think Exodus
[Fri Jan 2 06:40:22 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: to have a bigger cap than 10
[Fri Jan 2 06:40:20 2009] [Server01:ichat] Exodus@LostProphecy: would it be too much overhead to load a seperate copy of the area?
[Fri Jan 2 06:39:55 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: yeah in a pinch i could load a generic dungeon for the instance and load any mobs in that i i like
[Fri Jan 2 06:39:08 2009] [Server01:ichat] Vladaar@6Dragons: I have instance rooms for my tutorial that work like that. So players dont step on each other in tutorial
[Fri Jan 2 06:38:26 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: yes thats how i planed for it to happen
[Fri Jan 2 06:37:54 2009] [Server01:ichat] Vladaar@6Dragons: if you got 50 players and 20 went to same instance, would it tell 10 instance is full or somethng?
[Fri Jan 2 06:37:47 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: the generation is, i just have not had time to drop a few areas in and play with them
[Fri Jan 2 06:37:14 2009] [Server01:ichat] Vladaar@6Dragons: is that working?
[Fri Jan 2 06:36:57 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: everything that is loaded into the instance will be generated pretty much
[Fri Jan 2 06:36:53 2009] [Server01:ichat] Vladaar@6Dragons: hrm
[Fri Jan 2 06:36:37 2009] [Server01:ichat] Vladaar@6Dragons: heh, I do have explorer code too you discovered a new area. Try to keep players from just leveling in wilderness you know, heh
[Fri Jan 2 06:36:33 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: hackish, 10 copies if each zone, and a command that cycles though them
[Fri Jan 2 06:36:02 2009] [Server01:ichat] Vladaar@6Dragons: how are you doing your instances Fury
[Fri Jan 2 06:36:00 2009] [Server01:ichat] Exodus@LostProphecy: Exodus@LostProphecy chuckles politely.
[Fri Jan 2 06:35:51 2009] [Server01:ichat] Exodus@LostProphecy: You moved one room, congratulations! Here's 100 gold and 10 glory
[Fri Jan 2 06:35:10 2009] [Server01:ichat] Exodus@LostProphecy: for some of them its done right, but a lot of them have just about every little thing as a quest
[Fri Jan 2 06:34:52 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: been arround 100's of years
[Fri Jan 2 06:34:32 2009] [Server01:ichat] Vladaar@6Dragons: course it pales to those big muds that say 1000's of quests, I dont know how they do it, heh
[Fri Jan 2 06:34:14 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: i want to see about 15+ instances
[Fri Jan 2 06:33:53 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: nice work
[Fri Jan 2 06:33:42 2009] [Server01:ichat] Vladaar@6Dragons: not a questmaster but custom quests, heh
[Fri Jan 2 06:33:23 2009] [Server01:ichat] Vladaar@6Dragons: I want to be able to say 100's of quests available, heh
[Fri Jan 2 06:33:06 2009] [Server01:ichat] Vladaar@6Dragons: We working at getting over 100 quests that work with our quest journal here. Got 52 done so far. I mandate that every area installed must have at least one quest for players to do.
[Fri Jan 2 06:30:32 2009] [Server01:ichat] Exodus@LostProphecy: heh, smaug license doesn't say you can't make fun of the originators :p
[Fri Jan 2 06:27:57 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: yelling what you noobs doing in a stock area muhaha
[Fri Jan 2 06:27:25 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: just make them into mobs Vlad and place them in that zone
[Fri Jan 2 06:26:26 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: especially if you know who they are
[Fri Jan 2 06:26:04 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: hahahaha that would be so funny
[Fri Jan 2 06:25:34 2009] [Server01:ichat] Vladaar@6Dragons: heh prob better not might offend someone
[Fri Jan 2 06:25:29 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: naaa the only one thats big is the housing zone, 3000 rooms there, the rest of my game takes place on maps
[Fri Jan 2 06:24:58 2009] [Server01:ichat] Vladaar@6Dragons: yah might make like mob fake players like Thoric and Nivek calling you noobs in the areas that are stock
[Fri Jan 2 06:24:51 2009] [Server01:ichat] Exodus@LostProphecy: those are some huge areas
[Fri Jan 2 06:24:27 2009] [Server01:ichat] Exodus@LostProphecy: heh, that's neat. I always liked places where you could visit like a past/present/future rendition of the same area
[Fri Jan 2 06:24:07 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: i should say 5 areas all original, in a 15000 room game
[Fri Jan 2 06:23:52 2009] [Server01:ichat] Exodus@LostProphecy: not even one?
[Fri Jan 2 06:23:51 2009] [Server01:ichat] Vladaar@6Dragons: one of them you got to do a time machine quest, to go back intime to reach the stock area, heh
[Fri Jan 2 06:23:25 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: i got no areas
[Fri Jan 2 06:23:16 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: cool, yeah i hate 1000's of levels, its just pointless
[Fri Jan 2 06:23:07 2009] [Server01:ichat] Vladaar@6Dragons: I have like 3 total stock areas
[Fri Jan 2 06:22:56 2009] [Server01:ichat] Exodus@LostProphecy: smaug deriv
[Fri Jan 2 06:22:49 2009] [Server01:ichat] Exodus@LostProphecy: heh, I remember playing one mud way back when that had 400 levels. It wasn't too bad except after level 300 you had no new skills and nothing to look forward to until 400
[Fri Jan 2 06:22:40 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: your a ROM?
[Fri Jan 2 06:22:21 2009] [Server01:ichat] Exodus@LostProphecy: I'd have to look again, but I'd say its about 30 or 40% stock areas, though every one has been reworked a great deal
[Fri Jan 2 06:21:52 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: yeah i would call that 150 levels
[Fri Jan 2 06:21:28 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: remort then do it all again, same content, so really its just 120 levels still
[Fri Jan 2 06:21:27 2009] [Server01:ichat] Vladaar@6Dragons: Are any stock areas?
[Fri Jan 2 06:21:07 2009] [Server01:ichat] Exodus@LostProphecy: so I guess there's 150 there
[Fri Jan 2 06:21:02 2009] [Server01:ichat] Exodus@LostProphecy: make a char with one class, level to 50, pick a second class, level back up to 50, pick a 3rd, level back to 50
[Fri Jan 2 06:20:50 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: in sentience you multi every 30 levels, 4 multi's makes ofr 120 levels
[Fri Jan 2 06:20:10 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: not remorting, depends on how the multiclass works
[Fri Jan 2 06:19:49 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: naaa
[Fri Jan 2 06:19:38 2009] [Server01:ichat] Exodus@LostProphecy: do remorting or multiclassing that makes you relevel count?
[Fri Jan 2 06:19:18 2009] [Server01:ichat] Exodus@LostProphecy: 50, 205 epic, 143 areas
[Fri Jan 2 06:18:23 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: damn
[Fri Jan 2 06:18:12 2009] [Server01:ichat] Vladaar@6Dragons: 80
[Fri Jan 2 06:17:48 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: and areas
[Fri Jan 2 06:17:33 2009] [Server01:ichat] Vladaar@6Dragons: 100
[Fri Jan 2 06:17:26 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: how many player levels do you have
[Fri Jan 2 06:14:52 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: nice, thats pretty good
[Fri Jan 2 06:14:26 2009] [Server01:ichat] Vladaar@6Dragons: thats all from my head of builders. Well I did one area too.
[Fri Jan 2 06:13:36 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: nice, whats the output of your other builders
[Fri Jan 2 06:12:43 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: what i needs are some writers to write instance stories, i can then gen up everything to go with it
[Fri Jan 2 06:12:35 2009] [Server01:ichat] Vladaar@6Dragons: yah, that is what we do lately and it is filling up wilderness got like 6 50 vnum zones done in last month
[Fri Jan 2 06:11:56 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: 3 linked zones of 50 nums makes for a good area to explore and keeps the builders who have never done it before interested
[Fri Jan 2 06:11:15 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: yeah 50 is a good start, then make a companion zone to go with the first
[Fri Jan 2 06:10:28 2009] [Server01:ichat] Vladaar@6Dragons: I have a good amount of areas done here, just want to spread them out on wilderness more. We have also gone to strategy of only giving 50 vnums to builders and telling them to build it, throw a quest in it for players, and knock out another one. As many builders want 100+ vnums find it a task too large, and never finish it.
[Fri Jan 2 06:10:25 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: the only traditional type zone will be the main city
[Fri Jan 2 06:09:58 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: and soon i will even have the mobs taken out of the equasion as well, instances will all be totally generated
[Fri Jan 2 06:09:20 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: i have building down pretty much to making the rooms and the mobs
[Fri Jan 2 06:08:48 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: coded formula for anything that needs to be set
[Fri Jan 2 06:08:16 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: actually builders has been something that has forced many design choices i have made, maps rather than zones, generated equips over buffed out builders stuff
[Fri Jan 2 06:08:08 2009] [Server01:ichat] Vladaar@6Dragons: I have prob lost 10 players that way over the last 2 years, good players, that I guess are embarrassed that they can't build, or dont want to build and leave.
[Fri Jan 2 06:07:21 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: lol yeah catch 22
[Fri Jan 2 06:06:30 2009] [Server01:ichat] Vladaar@6Dragons: everyone has a hard time getting staff now adays. Too many muds you can work for. My best staff come from players, and then it becomes do I want to rob my player base for another builder, who may lose the spark of fun attempting to build, quit and not bother to play again, heh.
[Fri Jan 2 06:05:11 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: its also why i have a hard time getting staff, im not compromising when it comes to my game vision
[Fri Jan 2 06:03:45 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: lol, i know what you mean, i have shown people my design doc and said if it fits in with that then i will concider it, but the next thing you know, they want to intorducde andriods and shit that does not fit
[Fri Jan 2 06:02:38 2009] [Server01:ichat] Vladaar@6Dragons: wasn't that is
[Fri Jan 2 06:02:20 2009] [Server01:ichat] Vladaar@6Dragons: I have only had 2 diff co-owners was too bad a deal, but it always boils down to, being able to compromise on issues, there are some things that are so irritating, that you just dont want a mud, if it comes down to this or that feature.
[Fri Jan 2 06:00:53 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: in the end i just end up fucking them off and doing it all myself
[Fri Jan 2 06:00:34 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: and finding someone who cares as much as you do about the game is pretty hard also, i have had so many co-owners its not funny
[Fri Jan 2 05:59:57 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: yeah i know, thats a hard thing, if your not there to keep things motivated it all goes to shit
[Fri Jan 2 05:59:18 2009] [Server01:ichat] Vladaar@6Dragons: its going to be hard on my game, because as much as I'd like to think things will go smooth and stuff will get done, staff will be online to greet and entertain players, when the admin is away, they are gone too, often. At least that is what experience has taught me.
[Fri Jan 2 05:59:13 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: or use templates for the ships, that cannot be changed
[Fri Jan 2 05:58:56 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: making the ships 1 room will ease your pain on how to deal with things, cause then your not making 10 vnums act as 1 on the map
[Fri Jan 2 05:57:58 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: so i have to many hours of free time
[Fri Jan 2 05:57:36 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: lol im on holidays from uni and im self employed, i hardly ever go to work
[Fri Jan 2 05:57:07 2009] [Server01:ichat] Vladaar@6Dragons: come on Fury I see you online here for hours at a time, heh
[Fri Jan 2 05:56:49 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: 2 hours a day is more than enought to play on this anyways
[Fri Jan 2 05:56:34 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: yeah you gotta be home for wife and kids, thats very important
[Fri Jan 2 05:55:50 2009] [Server01:ichat] Vladaar@6Dragons: yah
[Fri Jan 2 05:55:44 2009] [Server01:ichat] Vladaar@6Dragons: Its a dual edge sword I love going to daylight shift cause can be home more when my kids and wife awake, but midnight shift I got to work on mud like 12 hours a night.
[Fri Jan 2 05:55:23 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: is it using your wilds code for the ocean
[Fri Jan 2 05:54:29 2009] [Server01:ichat] Vladaar@6Dragons: yah that is what my friend Bexar says, but I dont know if I will carry on with it.
[Fri Jan 2 05:54:19 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: Wait, is this moving over your wilds code?
[Fri Jan 2 05:53:50 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: have it just 1 room
[Fri Jan 2 05:53:37 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: hmmm, make the ship simpler for now and work up from there
[Fri Jan 2 05:52:05 2009] [Server01:ichat] Vladaar@6Dragons: Was a problem with passengers being able to move around within the ship which was a virtual ship, that the player made custom desc's. While following the captain of ship around, how to save it, how to get them to positoned right, was a big pain.
[Fri Jan 2 05:51:33 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: i have been ganking smaugness out of my code as well as getting the classes closer to finnished
[Fri Jan 2 05:50:48 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: whats wrong with the code exactly
[Fri Jan 2 05:50:17 2009] [Server01:ichat] Vladaar@6Dragons: was doing ship code, but a little bummed out about it now. Once I got into the carrying of passengers, it got very complicated, and realized wasn't going to work the way I was doing it. Now not sure if I am going to finish it, cause I have to go to daylight shift soon, and when that happens only have like 3 hours a day to put towards mud.
[Fri Jan 2 05:49:04 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: Vlad what you working on
[Fri Jan 2 05:47:51 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: night Keb
[Fri Jan 2 05:47:41 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: lol naaa thats why i save a little of my wage each week so that i can spend it on this
[Fri Jan 2 05:47:38 2009] [Server01:ichat] Keberus@SW:TGA: Well, its been real, I'm gonna get off of here for a while....later guys.
[Fri Jan 2 05:47:04 2009] [Server01:ichat] Vladaar@6Dragons: heh seems like a problem then
[Fri Jan 2 05:47:02 2009] [Server01:ichat] Keberus@SW:TGA: heh
[Fri Jan 2 05:46:49 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: Vlad, sure i can, money is not a problem, only convincing the wife to let me spend it
[Fri Jan 2 05:46:27 2009] [Server01:ichat] Keberus@SW:TGA: Nice
[Fri Jan 2 05:46:11 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: i would be happy with 50+ online at any time of the day
[Fri Jan 2 05:46:01 2009] [Server01:ichat] Vladaar@6Dragons: doesn't see bigtime available if you stay smaug code though. Cant operate on no funds forever can you?
[Fri Jan 2 05:45:45 2009] [Server01:ichat] Keberus@SW:TGA: True, personally, I'd be happy with 10 regular players
[Fri Jan 2 05:45:29 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: for sure, you might as well aim high, failure is then an option :)
[Fri Jan 2 05:45:09 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: so the more polish there is in client and game the better
[Fri Jan 2 05:45:05 2009] [Server01:ichat] Keberus@SW:TGA: So you wanna go big time, hunh?
[Fri Jan 2 05:44:39 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: i have a friend who works for a games retailer, i want to have a few thousand mini disks burned that will be given away through his stores
[Fri Jan 2 05:44:17 2009] [Server01:ichat] Keberus@SW:TGA: Any imagery at all will help, there's plenty of 'potential players' but not enough appeal for them
[Fri Jan 2 05:43:14 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: yeah i think having 2d images will be a boon to those who have not played a text game
[Fri Jan 2 05:42:31 2009] [Server01:ichat] Keberus@SW:TGA: Thats cool
[Fri Jan 2 05:42:05 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: yeah thats a problem, not having the money, since i started working on this i have been putting away a little money each week to be able to pay for things like this and promotion when im ready to open
[Fri Jan 2 05:41:58 2009] [Server01:ichat] Keberus@SW:TGA: Well, the things I want are at least 256 colors, image support, and a few other things to make gameplay easier, and more appealing to the other gen of people who need to be able to see things
[Fri Jan 2 05:41:01 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: pretty cheeply
[Fri Jan 2 05:40:50 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: Orrin can do a standalone version of Fmud and trick it up real nice too
[Fri Jan 2 05:40:39 2009] [Server01:ichat] Keberus@SW:TGA: I don't have the coin to spend on my hobby
[Fri Jan 2 05:40:25 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: get someone to code it for you
[Fri Jan 2 05:40:15 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: i was going to have Orrin make me one that does the same things from Fmud
[Fri Jan 2 05:40:10 2009] [Server01:ichat] Keberus@SW:TGA: True dat...Thats why I wish that I knew java, and could just develop my own client
[Fri Jan 2 05:39:39 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: but having a client that does everything you want is important if you wish to control every aspect of your game
[Fri Jan 2 05:38:17 2009] [Server01:ichat] Keberus@SW:TGA: probably not
[Fri Jan 2 05:37:30 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: shouldnt cost more than 500 on rent a coder i think
[Fri Jan 2 05:37:15 2009] [Server01:ichat] Keberus@SW:TGA: Nice
[Fri Jan 2 05:37:04 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: i will eventually pay someone who knows delphi to make it work for mw
[Fri Jan 2 05:36:48 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: getting it to compile however is another story, i cannot find some of the libraries it needs, they seem to have gone way of the dodo
[Fri Jan 2 05:36:11 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: yeah it is
[Fri Jan 2 05:36:05 2009] [Server01:ichat] Keberus@SW:TGA: Is portal open source?
[Fri Jan 2 05:35:54 2009] [Server01:ichat] Keberus@SW:TGA: Looks pretty cool
[Fri Jan 2 05:33:59 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: the last picture on that page shows you most of what it can do
[Fri Jan 2 05:32:26 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: http://www.orientaldojo.net/page.php?10
[Fri Jan 2 05:32:25 2009] [Server01:ichat] Keberus@SW:TGA: We implemented MXP
[Fri Jan 2 05:31:53 2009] [Server01:ichat] Keberus@SW:TGA: Ah
[Fri Jan 2 05:31:39 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: MIP is a bit like mxp it does chat re-routs, loads images, plays music and the like
[Fri Jan 2 05:30:56 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: MIP is pretty much the reason why, eventually i will exclude all clients other than portal from my game
[Fri Jan 2 05:30:49 2009] [Server01:ichat] Keberus@SW:TGA: Whats MIP?
[Fri Jan 2 05:30:31 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: MIP, its simple to use and adds nice functioality to your game
[Fri Jan 2 05:30:04 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: i am just too lazy to script up all the bits i would want, like aarwolf have
[Fri Jan 2 05:29:57 2009] [Server01:ichat] Keberus@SW:TGA: What made you decide to use portal as your client?
[Fri Jan 2 05:29:12 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: its easy to do with mush as it has 10 playback channels
[Fri Jan 2 05:29:12 2009] [Server01:ichat] Keberus@SW:TGA: I wish I had the know how to make my own client
[Fri Jan 2 05:28:54 2009] [Server01:ichat] Keberus@SW:TGA: I guess, that could work too
[Fri Jan 2 05:28:39 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: or if i hacked up portal to add in some other channels
[Fri Jan 2 05:28:39 2009] [Server01:ichat] Keberus@SW:TGA: If you had the player open a browser window and connect to the website, using SQL, you could keep tabs on where the player was, and as stream the audio through the website
[Fri Jan 2 05:28:16 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: yeah Keb i think i could do it if i thought about it a bit more
[Fri Jan 2 05:27:57 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: night
[Fri Jan 2 05:27:54 2009] [Server01:ichat] Keberus@SW:TGA: Later
[Fri Jan 2 05:27:48 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sinistrad@Dead_Souls: Nite!
[Fri Jan 2 05:27:42 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sinistrad@Dead_Souls: You know, I'm just gonna go sleep.
[Fri Jan 2 05:27:40 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: songs for mob combat and pk etc
[Fri Jan 2 05:27:31 2009] [Server01:ichat] Keberus@SW:TGA: There almost seems like there would be a way to do that
[Fri Jan 2 05:27:02 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: i would have different songs for different areas and times of the day
[Fri Jan 2 05:26:56 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sinistrad@Dead_Souls: Hm =)
[Fri Jan 2 05:26:36 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: well i use sound effects already, but as i only have 1 channel, triggering a new sound stops the current sound
[Fri Jan 2 05:25:55 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sinistrad@Dead_Souls: How would you make it work in a mud?
[Fri Jan 2 05:23:13 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: and if i knew a good composer
[Fri Jan 2 05:22:57 2009] [Server01:ichat] Fury@OrientalDojo: i would have music if there was a more convinent way of using it,
[Fri Jan 2 05:22:11 2009] [Server01:ichat] Sinistrad@Dead_Souls: Yeah, no powers in the Bebop Universe. Also, no music in muds would not "really" make it Bebop.
[Fri Jan 2 05:21:22 2009]
